Failure—no debacle is final
All of us experience some form of failure at some point in our lives, but what’s important is what we learn and move on, carrying the wisdom acquired from it. Asim started the TEDxAzadiStreet talk by highlighting his struggle during the initial years of his professional life.
Our co-founder further continued how he was always a bright student while doing his Bachelor’s in Software Engineering, and his teachers consistently commended him for being capable enough to land any lucrative job in the industry.
He told the audience how he failed his first job interview and felt demotivated, but he didn’t lose hope and kept trying different prospects against all odds.
Resilience—withstanding against the odds
According to Asim, resilience is important because it’s needed to process and stand up and overcome hardships. He told the audience how he found a great job opportunity at a well-established IT company. And after putting in ample hard work and dedication, he was promoted to VP of the production department.
As ill luck would have it, that particular company closed its operations. The failure was actually a blessing in disguise: the situation tempted him to start working and launch his startup, TekRevol, currently considered one of the most progressive digital transformation companies.
The biggest motivation driver behind the start of his company was the stagnant feeling of not learning anything new and the lack of progression in his technical expertise during his on-job tenure.
And, importantly, the content of doing something for the greater good through his technical and development expertise.
Goals—looking beyond the horizon
Asim emphasized the importance of setting goals. Setting goals trigger new behaviors, helps guide your focus, and helps you sustain that momentum in life. According to him, your goals should be well-defined throughout. As there is a popular saying,
“Starve your distractions; feed your focus.”
What’s Next?
Asim envisions pushing TekRevol in the digital solutions space, penetrating the Fortune 500 club, and getting listed in NASDAQ in the next five years.
Only recently, TekRevol enlisted in the reputed Inc. 5000 list as one of the fastest-growing businesses in North America.
And for Asim Rais, this is just the start, as more significant and prominent accomplishments are yet to come.
TekRevol plans to invest in a broader scope of digital transformation, become Pakistan’s most preferred workplace, and launch an incubation hub to graduate the next generation of tech leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs.
